Nissan Up Against Maurti Alto and WagonR With K2

Nissan Motors a year old auto company in the domestic auto market is aiming to get a tight grip by bringing in small cars in India.
Nissan Motors India introduced Nissan Micra last year in July and since then it has been well accepted by the Indian car buyers. But now, the Japanese auto maker wishes to enjoy a meaty chunk of this second fastest growing auto market by rolling out a smaller hatchback. The new car is coming to compete against popular cars like Maruti Alto and Maruti Wagon R from Indian auto biggies, Maruti Suzuki India.

The auto industry is brewing with news about the Japanese auto giant developing a small car, as they are well known for manufacturing the super speedy Nissan 370Z. But following the trends in the Indian auto market, the winner in this sector is the one who develops car which gives excellent mileage and comes in a competitive price band and easy on maintenance.
As per the person close to the development, Nissan Micra can not be termed as a mass segment car due to its price band of Rs 6 lakh. To overcome this obstacle, Nissan Motors is coming with a small car which is coded as K2. It is being speculated that the new car will come with a price tag of Rs 3.5 lakh and will sport 1.0 litre and 1.2 litre powertarin options. The new small car will pitch against Maruti Wagon R and Hyundai i10.
It seems Nissan Motors has pulled it socks to beat the czars as another small car project coded as I2 will compete with Maruti Alto with an expected price tag of Rs 2.5 lakh. As per the sources it is being learnt that the small car will roll out in 2013.
