As per the Indian auto giants, it is still pondering over to assemble the new sedan Maruti Kizashi in the Maruti Suzuki Gurgaon manufacturing unit, but the assembling will depend on the demand for the new car.
M M Singh, the Managing Executive Officer in Production in Maruti Kizashi India, said that, the manufacturing of the 1.3 litre diesel powertrain with the turbo charger is at its developing stage. He also said that, the assembling for the new version of Maruti SX4 will begin after the reopening of the plant on January 3rd, 2011. The facility will be closed due to the yearly maintenance. He did not reveal the time span for the rolling out of the new car but expects to be come soon. The turbo charged diesel powertrain is equipped with various added features which helps them making more proficient that the ones available which is capable of churning better power.
MSI, built diesel car models of Maruti Swift, Maruti Dzire and Maruti Ritz with 1.3 litre powertrain. Fiat sources the engines for the Maruti cars. Other than this, the Indian auto giants is also thinking about the diesel car model for the MPV 'rIII', is expected to be out by 2012.
Maruti with the new premium sedan Maruti Kizashi will enter the premium mid size segment by 2012 in the CBU. When enquired about the Maruti Kizashi being assembled in India, Shinzo Nakanishi, the Maruti Suzuki India, Managing Director replied, that, this premium sedan segment is not a volume driven market but if it records high sales graph, then the company will consider assembling of the new saloon.
