Nissan to launch global sedan this year



Nissan, Japanese manufacturer is all set to launch a new sedan and an SUV before the end of year 2012. As per the company official,
Nissan is planing to launch two new cars in India, one in them is sedan which is expeceted to launch this year and another is SUV which is likely to land by next year. The company already has a super luxury sedan Nissan Teana but now it seeks to bring a competitor to Toyota Etios.


It's hatchback Nissan Micra already getting buzz response from customers and has open competition against Maruti Swift, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Tata Indica V2. The company want to spread its wings across Indian auto market. It launched SUV Nissan X-Trail which is an answer to Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour etc. While its super luxury Nissan 370Z comes in popular coupes in India.

The Nissan's top executive said that this global new sedan will be available in competitor price range along with innovative features as against Toyota Etios. But first it will hit the Chinese soil later come to India. Meanwhile new SUV will be major competitor of Toyota Innova which will be launched in 2012. Both the new cars will be produced in Nissan's Chennai facility.

After Tsunami came the rumours were doing its rounds that the production of Japanese manufacturer will be effected but Kiminobu Tokuyama, Nissan Motor India Managing Director and CEO said that there is no impact on Indian manufacturing process though some affect may be on European markets.

Presently the sales mark of the company is pushed by Nissan Micra and not only domestic market but company is exporting its cars in overseas market. Nissan has sold 55,000 units of the car to Europe, Africa and West Asia. And it is expecting to export 1.1 lakh units by October this 2011.
