Tata Motors launched Tata Nano petrol in Sri Lankan auto market on Sunday. This international export of Tata Nano will be termed as Nano’s first structural export post its launch in March 2009.
As per official reports, the Tata Nano price is about three folds in the Lankan market as compared to Tata Nano, which is one of the cheapest cars in India. Further, Tata Nano will be available in Sri Lanka with a price tag of 9, 25,000 Sri Lankan rupees ($8,486) in comparison to its Indian price of $3,000.An official of Dimo, the Colombo agent for Tata said that they have started taking booking for the first 500 cars which are going to be imported to Sri Lanka. Further he commented that the main reason behind the towering price tag is due to the high import duties and local taxes. MD Tata Motors, Mr. P.M. Telang said that their company is all set for exporting the most popular Indian car in several countries and the plan will be executed within next few years.As per reports, Tata Motors India is expected to launch the high-end deluxe version of Tata Nano in the European market. This new version is most likely to come affixed with wide range of equipment for providing new comfort & convenience along with safety. The Tata Nano Deluxe is currently in development phase at the company’s Sanand Plant in Gujarat.
