Audi unveils new Audi R8 GT Spyder in Austria

Recent advancements in automobile world states that German automobile giant Audi has launched open top version of its high performance Audi R8 GT flagship sports car called Audi R8 GT Spyder.
According to sources, the car was launched at the annual Woerthersee meet of Audi, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen in Austria. This two-seater Audi R8 GT Spyder is powered by 5.2-litre V10 engine which has been increased from 518bhp to 552bhp and is capable of shooting from zero to 100 in just 3.8 seconds. Top speed of Audi R8 GT Spyder is also increased up to 197mph~317kmph.The Audi R8 GT Spyder is fitted with a six-speed Rtronic transmission as standard. However, this powerful Audi car incorporates direct-injection unit which delivers a Porsche-911-Turbo-trouncing 552 horsepower capable of distributing a weight-to-power ratio of 6.5 pounds per hp. Torque peaks at 398 pound-feet at 6,500 rpm. This German car further encompasses carbon-fibre body panels, modified front spoiler, fixed rear spoiler, new rear bumper and weighs around 85kg less than earlier model. However, changes in Audi R8 GT Spyder also include titanium grey add-on body parts to enhance the looks.

 Besides, a dual lip front splitter coupled with a full new front bumper and the GT badges in red along with exhaust tailpipes shaped round and the big diffuser all-in-all make the Spyder a head turner. Taillights of dark LEDs look great behind the clear glass. All-black interiors coupled with the introduction of new light-weight seats have helped reduce the weight of the car by 31.5kgs. With Audi R8 price in India starting at 1.19 crore, the Audi R8 GT Spyder is available at a price tag of 207,000 pounds. As for now, Audi India comprises of Audi TT with recent launched Audi A7. Furthermore, Audi India is expected to launch Audi A1 by the end of 2011.
