New Honda CR-V Coming in March 2013

Japanese auto giant, Honda that launched the new generation Honda CR-V in the UK in October is now all set to roll out the similar vehicle in India as well. We brought you the official images and details about the car back in September 2012, now it seems that the launch is quite near. Our sources have confirmed that the existing CR-V has been officially discontinued, and the 2013 CR-V will come in March 2013. And what has made us believe on this further is the fact that Honda Cars India has removed the current generation CR-V from its official website now, which means the car has already been discontinued and soon their will be the next generation Honda CR-V.

The next generation CR-V has certainly got better in most departments than its predecessor be it the quality, refinement or practicality. But there will still not be the diesel version of the vehicle in India, so India might have to wait for another year to get the diesel CR-V. Pricing too has not been announced by the company as of now, we are expecting it to be between Rs. 20 and 24 lakh, which will make it an ideal competitor of Outlander and BMW X1 Petrol.Dimension wise, the new Generation CR-V get shorter and lesser in length than the outgoing version. For the first time Honda CR-V will be available with a choice of two and four-wheel drive option. Moreover the new model takes on a more assertive and aerodynamic stance with a bolder nose section. The front bumper is joined by a horizontal three-bar grille and deep-set headlights. The lower front bumper is designed to convey SUV capability with a generous approach angle.

2013 Honda CR-V Becomes '4x4 of The Year'

Japanese automaker Honda has got a reason to be happy this Christmas as its flagship SUV CR-V has been crowned as the '4x4 of The Year' by the prestigious publication Total 4x4. This is the first ever award won by the 2013 CR-V, which was launched in UK recently. 2013 Honda CR-V is being manufactured at Honda's Swindon facility, and is being sold in United Kingdom. The competition was fierce and the magazine’s test team pitted the Honda against several key rivals in the ‘Medium SUV’ segment. Sweeping them aside it took class honours, making it a contender for the overall ‘best of the best’ title, which it duly won. It’s an outstanding achievement for such a new vehicle.

Total 4x4 Magazine’s testing process is a comprehensive one, ranging from interior quality, comfort and practicality to repeated drives of a set road route by different judges. The publication’s editor, Alan Kidd, commented: “Never before have there been so many likely candidates for the overall title. However, from the moment we started crawling around inside the CR-V, it was clear Honda had hit the jackpot. The quality of its interior is on a par with the best, and its flexibility is exceptional – and that was before we actually drove it.”He continued: “Seldom has a new 4x4 put such a big tick in so many boxes. It takes an awful lot to impress us these days. The new CR-V didn’t just impress us – it made our jaws drop.” Dave Hodgetts, Managing Director of Honda (UK), was thrilled with the honour. “For the new CR-V to take its first award so soon after launch is a real festive treat for everyone and a fantastic way to end the year. We hope it will be the first of many.” The new CR-V is in dealerships now with prices starting from £21,395 OTR (Rs 19.04 lakhs) for the base entry level 2.0 i-VTEC S grade 2WD model. 2013 Honda CR-V has been launched some time back in South Africa and it is expected to be launched in India as well, the car might see an Indian launch by early 2013.

New Honda City Will Increase Pride of Malaysian Roads

Honda Malaysia has yesterday unveiled the much awaited new Honda city, which has been said to better in design, expediency and performance than its older siblings. The all new Honda city brings style that it missed in the past, but upholds what it is known for, the quality. "The new city caters to both work and leisure activities" said Yoichiro Ueno, CEO & MD- Honda City on the occasion. Honda Malaysia had to halt its production in April 2012, and the Honda city back orders went above 3000 since then. What has been so special this time is, the new Honda city has been the first completely knocked-down (CKD) model from Honda after the recommencement of the production unit in April 2012. Secondly, the back order for Honda City which went over 3,000 units during the close down, too have been cleared.
The New Honda City derives its power from Honda's patented powertrain, i-VTEC 1.5-litre engine, the similar engine what we have in India. in fact other features too are almost similar, but the Malaysian version has been said to be delivering a better horse power and torque. Although, what it actually produces on road, will be interesting to watch. Honda Malasyia aims to sell 2,000 units of the new Honda City per month.
